Safe Driving Mobile App

A pre-existing app that insurance agents would send their customers so the customer could track their driving habits and receive discounts on their car insurance. A Bluetooth sticker would be placed in the corner of the windshield and connect to their phone when near the sticker (a.k.a in the car). The trip would automatically start recording.

It was our job to evaluate and update the UX and UI of both iOS and Android applications.

Original UI.

Screenshots of what the app looked like before the redesign. Navigation was awkward, it wasn’t clear what was clickable, and it was hard to find information - like how was my last trip?

Home Screen.

User can see an overview of their score, last trip, current goals they are working towards and where they sit on the leaderboard.

Trips.

Using the bottom sticky navigation, the users can see all their trips and scores.

Goals.

There was a big need to “gamify” the experience. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created the goal badges that the user can earn by completing tasks, like driving a large amount of miles or reducing the amount of hard brakes they take in a trip.

Leaderboard.

Finally, users can compete with others for better and safer driving. This feature can be configured in multiple ways - with other people in your area, direct family and friends are state wide. (Up to the insurance company to decide.)
